Male pattern baldness or androgenic alopecia is a type of hair loss condition that is easily identifiable through its pattern-like balding effect. Always, the baldness begins through a reduction of hair line at the temples and/or a clearing of the hair at the top or crown area. When the loss of hair condition is like this, it is already indicative that you have male pattern baldness.
Male pattern baldness is hereditary in nature. This means if you have immediate relatives like uncle, father, or brother that have the condition, it is possible that you may have already acquired the genetic trait but the condition has not just yet manifested itself, or maybe it has manifested but you simply cannot do something about it. The truth about going bald under such condition has always been a problem for men since the dawn of time. Many have tried to find ways on how to solve the problem. Sadly, the solution they always come up with is hair treatments that come in creams, ointments, or spray. All of these are topical in nature and does not really address the problem. While it is true that their hair growing elements are very effective, this form of treatment is simply not effective in stopping the thinning of hair follicles.
When you suffer from male pattern baldness, the strands of your hair are becoming thin due to the excessive presence of the hormone dihydrotestosterone in the scalp. This thinning can be observed when the scalp becomes visible through the hair. Although the thinning of hair and hair follicles does not happen overnight, over time though, the thinning of the hair follicles goes at an extent that they are no longer able to support the growth of hair. When this happens, the hair follicles undergo a stage of sleep or telogen phase. This means no hair growth will occur until the follicles become healthy again. However, without the proper treatment, these hair follicles will remain at their sleep stage forever.
Finasteride 1mg is considered as the most effective treatment for male pattern baldness because it treats the hair loss condition not on the surface but from inside the body. Finasteride 1mg basically treats androgenic alopecia at the hormonal level because it prevents or limits the production level of dihydrotestosterone, the hormone responsible on why hair becomes thin.
Dihydrotestosterone is essentially just a byproduct of the enzyme 5-alpha reductase and the hormone testosterone. Since finasteride 1mg is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor by nature, it is able to inhibit the production of dihydrotestosterone and therefore limit the amounts present in the scalp. Thanks to finasteride 1mg limiting the levels of dihydrotestosterone in the scalp, the thinning of hair follicles stops and some of the ones that have thinned out are able to recover and are then able to sprout new healthy hair.
When you use finasteride 1mg, the result does not happen overnight. The result however becomes visible after a span of 4 months with continuous usage of finasteride 1mg. It is important to continue using finasteride 1mg throughout because hair loss will resume after a few weeks’ time of stopping finasteride 1mg usage.
